To rent a vehicle with us, all drivers must:

• Hold a valid driver’s license for at least three years
• Present a valid passport or national ID
• For international renters outside the European Union (EU), an International Driving Permit (IDP) may be required

Ideal for light off-road use — perfect for coastal roads, national parks, and mountain villages. However, it is not intended for extreme off-roading or trails where ground clearance is insufficient.

It is in our responsibility to make sure the car is roadworthy and is equipped with all safety features and accessories.

We suggest a maximum speed of 90 km/h, especially when equipped with rooftop tents. This speed ensures safe and comfortable travel to all destinations.

Vehicles may not be used for:

• Racing or competitions
• Transporting illegal goods
• Subrenting or commercial use
• Towing other vehicles
• Extreme off-road conditions not suited to the vehicle

We accept payment by Visa and MasterCard (credit or debit), or cash (upon approval).

A refundable deposit of €500 is required for all rentals. This deposit is securely held during the rental period and returned upon the safe, undamaged return of the vehicle and gear, pending inspection.

Vehicles are supplied with either a full or partially full tank. We ask that you return the vehicle with the same fuel level.

If the tank is returned lower than at pickup, a refueling charge will be applied based on current market rates.

Unlimited kilometres are included for travel within Albania.

Cross-border travel is permitted only with prior approval and may incur a cross-border fee, as well as additional charges per kilometre, depending on the destination, insurance requirements, and roadside assistance coverage.

Coverage details vary based on the insurance option selected at booking. Please review your insurance package carefully.

Important: No insurance cover for incidents resulting from driving under the influence of alcohol or illegal substances. In such cases, the renter is fully responsible for all related costs. The same applies to damages resulting from gross negligence, including but not limited to:

• Crossing rivers, deep water, or flooded roads despite clear prohibition
• Damage of the undercarriage while driving in areas exceeding the ground clearance of the vehicle
• Ignoring dashboard warning lights (e.g., oil pressure, overheating)
• Continuing to drive after a puncture, fluid leak, or overheating warning
• Using the wrong fuel type (e.g., diesel instead of petrol)
• Driving with roof tent open or unsecured gear
• Allowing unauthorized drivers to operate the vehicle
• Deliberate misuse (e.g., drifting, racing, jumping hills)
• Leaving the vehicle running unattended

In the event of an accident:

• Remain safe and call emergency services: 112
• Contact Discovery Compass immediately: +355 69 30 68 664
• Obtain a police report to document any incident
• If the police determine you are at fault, you will be responsible for a percentage of the damage costs based on the booked insurance
• If you are not at fault and have the required police report, no payment is required
• If no police report is obtained, you may be held liable for the full damage cost, regardless of fault
• In case of a breakdown, please contact Discovery Compass immediately at +355 69 30 68 664. We will handle roadside assistance. No other party should be contracted to perform work on the vehicle or towing services

Vehicles may come equipped with rooftop tents and camping gear. To ensure a pleasant experience for all customers:

• Use all gear responsibly (instructional videos can be sent via email before your rental period, and in-person guidance is also available)
• We will handle pressure washing the vehicle after use; however, please ensure all personal belongings are removed and all garbage is cleaned out
• Report any damage or missing items
• Replacement costs apply for lost or broken gear, except for normal wear and tear

Only registered drivers listed in the rental agreement may operate the vehicle.

No fee for a second additional driver, but each driver must meet the same requirements as the main renter. If more than two drivers, for each additional driver a fee of 4€ per day, or 28€.

Vehicles must be returned at the agreed time and location stated in the rental agreement. A grace period of up to 60 minutes is allowed. Returns beyond this time will incur additional charges:

• 1–3 hours late: 25% of the daily rental rate
• 3–6 hours late: 50% of the daily rate
• Over 6 hours or next-day return: full additional daily rate
• If you expect a delay, please contact Discovery Compass immediately. Unnotified late returns exceeding 24 hours may be treated as unauthorized use
• The return must always be in the presence of Discovery Compass staff where a joint inspection checklist will be performed

If you receive any fines during the rental period:

• Please notify us as soon as possible — if reported promptly, up to 40% discounts may apply and we can assist with payment at no additional charge
• If a fine is received and not declared, we will charge the full penalty amount, any late fees, plus a €9 administration fee, which will be deducted from the credit/debit card

Free cancellation is available if made more than 24 hours before scheduled pickup.

Cancellations made within 24 hours may incur a fee.

If you do not arrive within 2 hours of your scheduled pickup time without notice, the reservation may be classified as a “no-show,” and no refund will be issued.

Discovery Compass shall not be held liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential losses, including but not limited to loss of profits, income, enjoyment, or travel plans resulting from the use of, or inability to use, the rental vehicle.

The Company’s liability is limited to the direct costs of the rental agreement and does not extend to any loss or damage to the renter’s personal belongings, luggage, or valuables left in the vehicle, whether during or after the rental period.

Discovery Compass is not responsible for delays, interruptions, or cancellations caused by weather conditions, natural events, traffic, road closures, accidents, mechanical breakdowns not caused by the Company’s negligence, or any other circumstances beyond its reasonable control.
